Description

The purpose of this study was to establish Factors contributing to loss of records at Matuu level4 hospital Matuu. From findings of 20 respondents who completed the questionnaires and there 100% response. The respondents were of different professionals and it revealed that 35% were records officers; 25% were nurses; 20% were clerks; 15% were doctors and 5% were casuals who worked in different sections of the hospital such as: wards 25%, clinics 20%, library (filing area) 25%, billing and cash office 10%, out-patient 10% while coding and index office were 10%. The study showed that 40% of the respondents were employed between 1980-1989; 40% between 1990-1999; 15% between 2001-2010 and have handled records all those years.
